Which sites can Clipmoth save?
Sites deliver video and audio in a few common ways.
This page shows what the extension can save, what needs the desktop app, and what no tool can save.
Most of the everyday web
If a page plays media without DRM, the extension detects and saves it. Most sites use one of these four ways, and each has a practice page:
Big video & social platforms
The extension can't save video from these sites. The Clipmoth desktop app for Windows handles them.

DRM-protected subscription services
These services are protected by DRM (Widevine / PlayReady / FairPlay). Bypassing that protection to download is illegal under copyright law, so Clipmoth doesn't do it. A tool that offers to puts you at legal risk.
AES-128 encryption and DRM
AES-128 encryption (lesson 4) uses a key your browser downloads, so it can be decrypted by design. DRM ties decryption to certified hardware and OS features. A downloader can't break that, and shouldn't.
Only save content you own or have the right to keep. This guide says what works technically; it is not permission.
Request a site. The ones people ask for most get added first
Tell us which site you want. If it isn't DRM-protected, it may be added in a later extension or app update.
