Clipmoth — Privacy Policy

Summary

Clipmoth is a tool for downloading media that you have the right to save. It is built to work on your device. We do not collect, sell, or share your browsing history, the URLs you visit, or the media you download. There are no analytics, no trackers, and no advertising SDKs in our extensions or desktop app.

What we do NOT collect

• Your browsing history or the list of pages you visit.
• The media URLs detected on pages, or the files you download — these are processed locally and never sent to us.
• Personal identifiers, contacts, location, or behavioral/analytics data.

Data that leaves your device

1. License key verification (only if you buy Premium)

If you purchase Premium and enter a license key, that key is sent to our server (api.clipmoth.com) solely to verify it and unlock premium features. The key is a purchase token; we do not use it to identify or track you across sites. The result is cached locally so verification isn't repeated on every use. Free users who never enter a key transmit nothing to us.

2. Requests to the sites you download from

To detect and download media, the extension/app makes requests to the website or CDN hosting that media (for example, fetching an .m3u8 playlist and its segments). These requests go directly from your browser/device to that third-party site, not through us, and are subject to that site's own privacy practices.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details. We receive a confirmation and your email address in order to deliver your license key.

Permissions (browser extensions)

• Host access to sites you visit — required to detect media on any page you choose to download from. Used only for detection/download; page content is not read or transmitted.
• webRequest (observe only) — passively notices media responses so the extension can offer them for download. It cannot and does not block or modify your traffic.
• downloads — to save files to your device.
• storage — to remember your settings, daily free-tier count, and cached license status locally.
• activeTab — to read the active tab's title (for naming the saved file) when you click the toolbar button.

Data retention & your rights

Local data (settings, counters, cached license) stays on your device and can be cleared by removing the extension/app. On our server we retain only your license record (key, email, purchase date) for as long as the license is valid, so you can re-activate it. To request deletion of your license record, email us.

Children

Clipmoth is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

概要

Clipmoth は、あなたが保存する権利を持つメディアをダウンロードするためのツールで、処理は基本的にお使いの端末上で行われます。閲覧履歴、訪問したURL、ダウンロードしたメディアを収集・販売・共有することは一切ありません。 拡張機能・デスクトップ版にアナリティクス、トラッカー、広告SDKは含まれていません。

収集しないもの

• 閲覧履歴・訪問ページの一覧
• ページ上で検出したメディアURL、ダウンロードしたファイル（端末内で処理し、当社に送信しません）
• 個人識別情報、連絡先、位置情報、行動・解析データ

端末外に送信されるデータ

1. ライセンスキーの検証（プレミアム購入時のみ）

プレミアムを購入しライセンスキーを入力した場合に限り、そのキーは検証と機能解放のためだけに当社サーバー（api.clipmoth.com）へ送信されます。キーは購入トークンであり、サイト横断であなたを識別・追跡する用途には使いません。検証結果は端末内にキャッシュされます。キーを入力しない無料利用では、当社への送信は一切発生しません。

2. ダウンロード対象サイトへの通信

メディアの検出・取得のため、拡張機能／アプリは対象のWebサイトやCDN（例: .m3u8 プレイリストとそのセグメントの取得）へ通信します。これはお使いのブラウザ／端末から当該サイトへ直接行われ、当社を経由しません。当該サイトのプライバシー方針が適用されます。

決済

決済は Stripe が処理します。当社がカード情報の全体を受領・保存することはありません。ライセンスキー送付のため、確認情報とメールアドレスのみ受領します。

権限（ブラウザ拡張）

• 訪問サイトへのアクセス — 選択したページ上のメディア検出に必要。検出・ダウンロード目的にのみ使用し、ページ内容の読み取り・送信は行いません。
• webRequest（観測のみ） — メディア応答を受動的に検知してダウンロード候補として提示します。通信の遮断・改変はできず、行いません。
• downloads — ファイルを端末へ保存するため。
• storage — 設定・無料枠のカウント・ライセンス状態のキャッシュを端末内に保持するため。
• activeTab — ツールバーのボタン押下時に、保存ファイル名に使うためアクティブタブのタイトルを読むため。

保持期間・権利

ローカルデータ（設定・カウンタ・ライセンスキャッシュ）は端末内に留まり、拡張機能／アプリの削除で消去できます。当社サーバーには、再有効化のためライセンス情報（キー・メール・購入日）のみを、ライセンス有効期間中保持します。削除をご希望の場合はメールにてご連絡ください。

お子様について

本サービスは13歳未満を対象としておらず、意図的にデータを収集しません。

本ポリシーは更新される場合があります。重要な変更は上記「最終更新」日に反映します。
